How and why ORP is used
Explanation of what Redox potential (ORP) is and why it matters in pool water quality control.
The Redox potential (ORP) sensor measures the oxidizing capacity of water, which is directly related to free chlorine content. ORP is one of the most important parameters in pool water quality control because it indicates disinfection effectiveness. An ORP value above 650 mV ensures effective water disinfection. PCS controllers use ORP measurements for automatic chlorine dosing regulation, ensuring optimal water quality.
